Compassionate support for intense emotions, challenging relationships, and lasting change.

Frequently Asked Questions

I work with a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties, including anxiety, panic attacks, OCD, stress and burnout, phobias including emetophobia, low mood and depression, low self-esteem, bereavement, life transitions, emotional dysregulation, and difficulties with anger, shame, or guilt. I also support people facing family and relationship challenges, parenting struggles, work-related stress, perfectionism, and self-criticism.

In addition to more common difficulties, I work with individuals coping with acute or chronic health conditions, as well as those dealing with more complex or long-standing psychological difficulties, including trauma.

Absolutely. I have a particular interest in helping people who experience intense emotions or find relationships especially challenging. Together, we work to better understand these experiences and develop healthier, more compassionate ways of responding to them.

Online therapy may not be suitable for everyone. It is not the right option if you are having thoughts of hurting yourself or others, are in an urgent crisis or emergency, have been diagnosed with a severe mental illness or advised to be supported by a community mental health team, are required to undergo therapy by a court order or other authority, or do not have a reliable internet connection or suitable device.

You can begin by booking a free 10–15 minute initial introduction meeting via Zoom. This is an opportunity for us to get to know each other, discuss what kind of support you're looking for, and for you to see if sessions with me feel right for you.

Yes, I offer a free 15-minute Zoom consultation. It's a chance for us to briefly connect, for you to ask any questions, and to get a sense of whether working together feels like a good fit.

Due to time constraints, the introductory meeting serves as more of an icebreaker - a chance for you and me to get a sense of each other. The first full appointment is where we can delve into details and therapeutic guidance can be given.

Full sessions are conducted via a secure online platform. Sessions last 50 minutes.

The first session is an assessment where I get to know you a bit better. You'll have the opportunity to share your concerns and difficulties, the impact they have on your life, and what you'd like to get from therapy. I may ask questions about different areas of your life to understand how they connect to your concerns. However, there will be no pressure to share anything more than you feel comfortable with.

If we decide to work together, I can offer weekly, fortnightly, or monthly sessions, depending on what works best for you. Regular attendance is important for therapy to be effective, so I recommend scheduling and attending sessions consistently.

My therapy sessions are collaborative and focus on your chosen goals. I endeavour to be genuine and work transparently, sharing my ideas about your issues with you — including what may have been maintaining your difficulties and how to effectively work with them. I appreciate the resources and strengths available to people and use them therapeutically to create long-lasting, positive change.

What we discuss is confidential unless there is a disclosure of risk. Confidentiality may only need to be reconsidered in exceptional circumstances: if there is a serious risk of harm to you or others, if abuse of a child, elderly person, or disabled person is disclosed, if a terrorist act is disclosed, or if required by a court order. I will always be transparent about this.

Absolutely. We agree on a plan of action together, including the number and frequency of sessions and the therapeutic approach. I also seek your feedback at each session to ensure maximum therapy satisfaction and maintain an effective therapeutic relationship.

Yes. You can terminate therapy at any time by letting me know during our session or via email.

People I have worked with have commented that they felt comfortable and safe talking to me from the get-go. They appreciated my validating presence through the hard times in their lives, as well as practical tools and compassionate guidance, describing it as a "life-changing experience."

Are reports available, and what do they cost? Reports are not included in the therapy fee but can be provided for additional cost at a rate of £120 per hour, with payment due upon delivery. Please note that reports cannot be used for court purposes, and I am unable to act as an expert witness.

Online therapy cannot provide emergency or crisis support. If you are in immediate danger or contemplating suicide, please contact emergency services (999), NHS Direct (0845 46 47, available 24 hours), go to your nearest A&E, or contact the Samaritans (08457 90 90 90, available 24 hours). Between sessions, please use the crisis plan and calming strategies we have discussed, or reach out to a trusted friend, family member, or your GP.

Clients are not permitted to record sessions themselves, nor to allow anyone else to listen in - whether in person or via any device. However, session recording may be available as a managed service through the secure encrypted platform used for your sessions, where recordings are stored safely and can be reviewed for up to a year to help you reflect on your progress. If you would like to make use of this feature, please discuss it with me in advance so it can be set up appropriately.

Yes. If you hold private health insurance - such as BUPA or Vitality - you can pay through your insurer or claim reimbursement afterwards. Please have your membership number and authorisation code to hand before your first session. If you're unsure whether your policy covers therapy, feel free to get in touch.
